Most roles will have a Position Description, which will provide you with content and insights into the company and role. If there is no PD, its not necessarily a bad thing – the role may be new or not yet scoped.
Reviewing a position description isn’t just about reading the role requirements. You should use this document as a guiding document for you should discuss in the interview. For every point you should have a talking reference and previous example of how you have or can successfully meet the criteria.
Further, you can garner a lot about the company and its culture through the Position Description. Does the PD describe their values, how important people are, and its overall direction?
Take the time to read between the lines – you may be surprised at what you find!
